About Us

Welcome to Heart of Yew

Welcome to Heart of Yew, a community where Druids and nature enthusiasts come together to celebrate the wisdom of the wild. Here, we gather under the ancient trees to share knowledge, stories, and the simple joys of life in harmony with nature. Whether you’re here to learn, connect with kindred spirits, or simply enjoy the serenity of the forest, Heart of Yew is a place where everyone is welcome. Join us around the fire, beneath the stars, and let the magic of the natural world bring us closer together as we camp, share, and grow in unity.

From OBOD Camps to The Heart of Yew: A Journey Through Time

The Heart of Yew is not just a name—it is the latest chapter in a long and cherished story. Our roots run deep, entwined with the spirit of community, nature, and the shared magic of gathering under the open sky. To understand how we got here, we must look back to the beginning: to OBOD Camps, where it all began.

The Seeds of Community: OBOD Camps

The first incarnation of our gathering was under the banner of OBOD Camps, connected to the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. These camps were places of learning, laughter, and deep connection. Beneath the shade of ancient trees and around the glow of firelight, we forged friendships, honed our spiritual practices, and created memories that still resonate in our hearts today.

Through ritual, storytelling, music, and shared meals, we found a sense of belonging that extended beyond the individual. OBOD Camps brought together seekers from all walks of life, offering a space where people could learn, grow, and celebrate the natural world in a way that was both meaningful and transformative.

White Horse Camps: A New Chapter

As the years passed, our community evolved, and from the seeds of OBOD Camps grew White Horse Camps. Named after the iconic and sacred chalk figure that has long stood as a symbol of mystery and endurance, White Horse Camps carried forward many of the traditions and values of its predecessor while also forging its own identity.

These camps were spaces of deep camaraderie, joy, and continued spiritual exploration. They became a home for those who sought to immerse themselves in the rhythms of the land, to celebrate the wheel of the year, and to keep the fires of druidry, folklore, and nature reverence burning brightly.

Hands holding a heart.

The Heart of Yew: Carrying the Flame Forward

Now, we stand as The Heart of Yew, a community dedicated to holding and nurturing the essence of what came before while embracing the future. Like the ancient yew tree, which has long been a symbol of resilience, regeneration, and wisdom, we continue to provide a space for people to gather, learn, and celebrate.

We carry forward the traditions of shared song, storytelling, ritual, and deep connection to nature, all while making space for new voices, new ideas, and new ways to honour the land and each other.
